I went through similar thoughts of trading my Z for a new M3, but eventually decided against it and mod my Z instead. Even if I spent $30,000 in mods, it would still be cheaper than the M3. Plus I would have something that is more rare, and faster, and better looking. Of course, the new car comes with a warranty, and has the advantage of newer technology. So the main question you have to ask yourself is: are you the kind of person who likes to keep cars for a long time, and are willing to pay whatever it takes to maintain/repair it, or are you the kind of person who likes new cars and are trading them in every 3-5 years.
